Come dive with me into the inception of my new collection. Give me your suggestions and work with me.

I have been rejected so many times, work wise. That feeling of someone saying no to you, and especially all the hard work you put into your designs, makes you want to scream on the top of your lungs.

But as I mature in life and in my career, I’ve come to realise, no one really has a personal vendetta against me. The people who rejected my work, don’t know me or have been hurt by me. They’re just going about their jobs, climbing their career ladder, not looking to do any favours.

So, while some people loved and admired my work, others just felt that it didn’t match their sensibility, and that’s ok too. Not everyone believes in comfort and ease. And of course, fashion is never comfortable.

This entire ordeal made me realise, that designing for 1% of the crowd is following my passion, but designing for the rest of the 99% is actual business.

So I looked around, researched about what people around me were wearing, my circle of friends and their extended circles. The social groups that have the power of spending and their design sensibilities.

I put forward this idea to my Man Friday, my Masterji and he jumped with joy. I didn’t understand this excitement. Why would someone be excited to do a little more tedious work with great deal of details and designs, compared to easy silhouettes and straight lines?

But I realised, he knows so much more than just the easy stuff. He has knowledge and skill to make some insane designs. TOUCH WOOD.

Instagram is such a masterclass.

I went through numerous designers who’re acing their line of work. I went through Balmain to check their embroideries and embellishments.

I went through Label Jenn to understand her USP that has all the Gen Zs wanting more.

When I saw Jacquemus’s Spring 2026 collection, I jumped with joy because his this design is so much in line with my vision.

But the main point here is, it is a SPRING 2026 collection. I’m hitting the ball a little closer. Looking at the absolute party season that commences with Diwali and goes all the way to the end of the year. Four months of late nights, bling, parties and the works.

Back to planning AG’s party collection. I may just call it that or wait for a good dream to name this new collection.

Think Androgeny: dark colours, checks and stripes, thicker fabrics, bugs and flowers for embroidery, shoulder pads, short pants, oversized shirts.

Going to be sourcing for fabrics from the men’s department this time. They sure have some great looking stuff. (I am super biased toward men’s clothing because my Y chromosome is definitely a bit more stronger than the X)

So watch this space for more and be part of this entire process.

Let’s launch in the next 1 month so people can go about buying their party essentials on time??

Let’s go!!
